24-Unit Motor Vehicle First-Aid Kit

Thu Dec 24, 2009 22:50

Firstly Happy Christmas everyone...

Secondly, I've been searching the web for sometime now trying to establish the value of 2 '24-Unit Motor Vehicle First-Aid Kit' which I've recently attained via a close friend, I believe they belonged to his grandad who passed away recently.

So far I've had no joy but then I stumbled across this site....can anyone help?

Just need an idea how much you'd expect to pay for them? May even add them to the classifieds section.

One appears to have been used as some items are missing but the other appears to be complete.

I have plenty of pictures and can take more if need be.

Would be ever so grateful for any assistance.

Many thanks

Pete

Probably around USD150 for the complete kit, and USD600 for the small blue EMT booklet.

Bob, I think that your estimation of the Emergency Medical Tag Booklet is very high.

Thanks,
Ben.

What is the price you are referring to this item?

@Union Jack Jackson: I might be interested in buying the full 24 unit kit from you. Do you know what price you want?

Rgds,
Bob

Bob,

Unfortunately basing market price around offers made by potential buyers can sometimes be a little misleading. Extreme desire for an item, or lack of knowledge can sometimes lead to inflated offers. Of course, the same is also true in reverse (potential buyers might not be fully aware of the market price, and so offer something substantially less than that)!

I have three original books in my personal collection (the earliest example, through to the version shown here). Early Booklets (those with linen-effect tags and copper wire ties) are now demanding a price somewhere between €300 and €400. However, the example that Pete's shown here is actually the later variant (1942 revision). As such, I'd estimate its price to be more in the region of £100 - £150, assuming that it's complete and intact. It's difficult to ascertain that from the pictures here (for example is it complete with all duplicate tags, carbon paper, string ties, etc.), but it does look complete from the illustrations Pete has shared with us.

Thanks,
Ben ;)

All,

Last lot of pictures (I promise).

Just to let you all know I will update the post at the weekend when I've made a decision on what I'm going to sell and what I'm going to keep.

At the moment it looks as though the Emergency Medical Tags will be up for grabs and the incomplete kit with all it's contents.

Thanks for your help and all the kind offers.

Speak to you soon.

Pete
